In Europe, we have a small but vibrant community of researchers working on the theory and practical use of elastic waveguides for material characterization, nondestructive testing, structural health monitoring and sensors. This workshop aims to provide a platform where these groups with diverse interests can meet and exchange ideas. Current advances in the field will be presented in the form of talks and posters. The goal is not only to exchange but also to interconnect, creating opportunities for valuable collaborations.
The event is organized by the „Institut Langevin“ and the „Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM)“. It is supported by the „Société Française d’Acoustique (SFA)“ and the „Deutsche Gesellschaft für Akustik e.V. (DEGA)“.
You can still register to the workshop as an attendant. Abstract submissions are no longer possible.
Confirmed invited speakers
Matt Clark, University of Nottingham Using surface acoustic waves to image elasticity on metals
Fabrice Lemoult, Institut Langevin, ESPCI Paris, PSL Guided elastic waves in soft elastomers: on the role of viscoelasticity and deformation
Michael J. S. Lowe, Imperial College London Some practical needs and challenges for modelling guided waves
Vincent Pagneux, LAUM, CNRS Resonances at free edges for Lamb waves in continuous elasticity or elastic lattice
Event Location
Linslerhof is a historic manor that serves as an idyllic conference venue. It offers everything needed for a seminar: a peaceful environment, modern conference rooms, a restaurant and hotel rooms. After work, the gardens, the spa and the bar invite to recreate.
